Ascension Via Christi
Hours are 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. 7 days on, 7 days off. Position reports on-site at St. Francis campus. Remote work is not possible with this position.
The position provides overnight coverage for three Ascension Via Christi acute care hospitals (St Teresa, AVC Manhattan and AVC Pittsburg.)
The position reports on-site at the St Francis campus alongside another pharmacist and 3 pharmacy technicians, which provides additional support and sounding board for tough patient case questions.

What You Will Do
Assure the appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication orders.
Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems. Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients.
Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies. Assist with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students. May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs.
Provide patient counseling efficiently and effectively when required.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Licensed Pharmacist credentialed from the Kansas Board of Pharmacy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required. Pharmacy residency preferred.
Acute care experience or PGY1 trained pharmacists are strongly encouraged to apply.
Previous Meditech and Cerner experience is a plus.
