Atlantic Health System Pharmacist, Pharmacy Department in Summit, New Jersey
Atlantic Health System is currently seeking a Full-time Oncology Pharmacist at Overlook Medical Center to work days.
Reviews and monitors patient plans (therapy and treatment) for appropriateness based on current clinical and institutional guidelines as well as patient-specific criteria
Identifies treatment issues and medication misuse
Assesses all medication orders to ensure they meet established standards and practice guidelines of AHS Cancer Center
Advises clinicians on drug selection based on current clinical guidelines to optimize drug therapy
Adheres to safety requirements in the handling and preparation of chemotherapy and other hazardous agents according to current guidelines (USP 797, ASHP, NIOSH)
Participates in education activities and answers drug information questions
Participates in the training, education and mentoring of other pharmacists and technicians and precepting of pharmacy students and pharmacy residents
Participates in quality, safety and other project work related to oncology service in the outpatient infusion setting
The candidate will be responsible to work on weekend and work at one of the off-site locations on a rotational basis
Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy .
Qualifications / Requirements/Licensure
NJ Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License.
Must have minimum of 2 years hospital experience with sterile compounding.
Oncology experience preferred
Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) and/or Board Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacist (BCSCP) preferred
Candidate will be required to work some weekend shift(s).
