Summary This position is located in the Food and Drug Administration, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, Office of Communications, Division of Drug Information, located in Silver Spring, MD, whose focal point for public inquiries regarding human drug products. Responsibilities Serves as a senior pharmacist and drug consultant providing advice and guidance on complex scientific, regulatory and compliance issues. Ensures all aspects of the center's activities are communicated timely, and accurately through traditional and social media channels. Serves as the authority and expert for resolving previously unresolved problems. Plans and establishes program goals and objectives. Prepares, clears, and finalizes responses to public inquiries covering all aspects of the center?s activities Participates in various meetings on scientific and practical issues on drug related communications. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications The position of Pharmacist falls within the 0660 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-14, you must meet Time-in-Grade requirements by 11:59 pm EST on 09/27/2021. Basic Requirements This position has a Basic Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR). In order to be eligible for the Pharmacist series, 0660, you must meet the following basic IOR: Education - A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Note: Transcripts must be submitted at time of application if using education to meet this qualification requirement. In addition to the IOR requirement, you must meet the Licensure AND Medical Requirement below. Licensure - Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. AND In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Minimum Qualifications Requirements: Specialized Experience For the GS-14: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service to include providing technical consultation, advice, and guidance on drug information to resolve pharmacy related issues and managing medical communications and drug information related to pharmaceutical products for the pharmaceutical industry, health care professionals, and other government agencies. Time-in-Grade: Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service). Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
