CVS Health Pharmacist - Prior Authorization in Richardson, Texas

Job Description

The basic function of the pharmacist is to review and complete criteria based prior authorization as per policy and procedure. Provide on-call after hours pharmacist availability for urgent PA requests and provide internal pharmacist support to the PA team and member services department.

Required Qualifications

  • +1 year experience working as a pharmacist in a pbm setting. - Strong knowledge of prior authorization procedures to ensure a timely and accurate process on each prior authorization; - Good working knowledge of AS 400 and People Safe Platforms. - Experience using MS Office and other Windows based computer applications.- Must be considered in good attendance and performance standing. - Active pharmacist license that is in good standing.

  • Clinical pharmacy knowledge. * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.* Excellent organizational skills. Strong detail orientation. * Strong Microsoft Office skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.* Ability to balance clinical knowledge and customer service demands. * Ability to make own clinical decisions. * Demonstrated problem solving ability and attention to detail.* Ability to quickly assess and adapt to constant changing situations * Call center, PBM or clinical experience.* Exposure to clinical and analytical problem solving. Experience in medication review, patient counseling and identification of drug related problems


Bachelor's of Science - Pharmacy or Pharm.D.
