Oregon Health & Science University Pharmacist - CHH2 in Portland, Oregon

The purpose of this position is to provide the services of a licensed pharmacist which includes the responsibility for the safe and proper distribution and use of drugs for patients who range in age from neonates, infants less than one year of age, children and adolescents ages 1-18, adults ages 19-65

  • B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm.D

  • Community pharmacy practice

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical care principles

  • Disease related modification of drug therapy

  • Project management skills and experience in contemporary medication use systems

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team setting

  • Systematic problem solving skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Patient interviewing and teaching skills

  • Successfully completes initial and continued competencies as required for maintenance of standard of practice, legal regulatory compliance and OHSU policies

  • Oregon State Board of Pharmacy License

  • The pharmacist will experience competing demands on their time from clinic staff and/or patients and will need to effectively multi-task and prioritize demands

  • The pharmacist must deal with intense situations on a regular basis

  • The expectation is to provide patients with exceptional customer service at all times

  • Must be able handle significant lack of control over the workplace, with frequent interruptions (work is often dictated by external factors) that may lead to mental fatigue or stress

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Will need to perform many of their duties at a computer work station

  • Able to intermittently stand, walk, stoop, crouch, talk and listen

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

  • Advanced pharmacy practice residency

  • Experience in clinical and/or business program development

  • Disease related modification of drug therapy, medication therapy management, medication reconciliation skills

  • Project management skills, quality improvement and development of specialty pharmacy Programs.

  • Computer skills including use of electronic EMR, MS-Word, Outlook, Excel and other applicable databases
