St. Luke's Health System ED Pharmacist - Part Time - Nampa in Nampa, Idaho

Overview

St. Luke’s Health System in Nampa is seeking a part time (30 hours/week) ED Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team.

We are looking for an Emergency Medicine Pharmacist with board certification, residency (PGY2 EM or PGY2 Critical Care), and/or equivalent years of Emergency Department/Critical Care experience! The Emergency Medicine Pharmacist will be an integral part of the Emergency Care Team. Key responsibilities will include emergency response and trauma managementincluding but not limited to Code Blue, Code Critical/Rapid Response, Code STEMI, Code CVA and Priority Level Trauma. This role will be the frontline in antimicrobial stewardship with antibiotic selection/initiation in the ED as well as culture review of discharged patients. In addition to those responsibilities, the Emergency Medicine Pharmacist is responsible for providing drug information and assisting licensed providers to ensure optimal drug therapy for patients while immersed within the interdisciplinary team of a fast-growing Emergency Department. You will support St. Luke’s team of providers and nurses, as well as educate patients to provide top-notch patient care. As a specialist, you will have the opportunity to precept pharmacy students and residents across different sites.

Responsibilities

  • Review appropriateness of prescribed medication therapy.

  • Provide medication information and consultation to patients, nurses and medical staff.

  • Interpret prescriptions, compound and dispense medications.

  • Supervise and authorize the work of technicians, externs, interns and support staff.

  • Prepare and maintains all necessary records on medication therapy, prescriptions, patient charges, medical records and inventory.

  • Perform cognitive clinical pharmacy services and document findings and actions in accordance with standards of the medical center.

  • May assist in the training of technicians, externs, interns, residents and other department staff.

  • Serve as a role model and mentor to technicians, students, residents and new practitioners.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
