ProMedica Health System Pharmacist - Pharmacy - Outpatient - Full Time - Days in Monroe, Michigan
Under limited supervision and according to established policies and procedures utilizes and applies technical and professional skills in dispensing drugs and drug information; supervises pharmacy personnel to ensure patient medications are available in a timely and error-free manner; acts as pharmacy liaison with the public, patients, and other hospital personnel involved in the delivery of patient care.
A bachelor's degree in pharmacy with completion of state required internship and subsequent registration with the Michigan Board of Pharmacy.
The continuing education required to maintain registration with the Michigan Board of Pharmacy.
Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy is preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
A thorough understanding of the pharmacological principles necessary to assist in the safe administration of medications and drugs to hospital patients.
The interpersonal skills necessary to lead technicians and interns; to instruct patients, the public, and hospital employees; and to consult with physicians.
Basic keyboard knowledge and computer skills to accurately input data into the pharmacy computer system and generate daily reports necessary for pharmacy operation.
Physical ability to freely move about the hospital to deliver pharmacy items, to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; to reach and bend to obtain pharmacy supplies from storage shelves, drawers, etc., to retrieve stock from storeroom, lifting up to 25 pounds.
