As a full time, nonexempt, CPS Staff Pharmacist at both Hospital San Carlos Borromeo in Moca & Hospital Buen Samaritano in Aguadilla, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.
Schedule: This position is scheduled 40 hours per week, (3 shifts at Hospital San Carlos Borromeo and 2 shifts each week at Hospital Buen Samaritano). The schedule includes 8 hour day or evening shifts and includes some weekends. This position also rotates holidays at Hospital San Carlos Borromeo.
About the Facility: Hospital San Carlos Borromeo is licensed for 106 beds and offers the following services: general medical/surgical, ICU, Ortho, ER, and neonatal intermediate care. The hospital is located in Moca, a small, rural town in the western region of Puerto Rico. Moca may not a big city, but it is surrounded by many, including Aguadilla, Isabela and San Sebastian. All three cities are less than 20 minutes away and offer numerous recreational and business opportunities. The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday from 7a-9p and Saturday & Sunday from 7a-5p and holidays from 8a-5p.
Buen Samaritano Hospital is a locally owned, not-for-profit entity. It is Puerto Rico's 19th-largest private hospital, with 110 beds in use. The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday from 7am-9pm, weekends from 7am-5pm. Pharmacy systems include Omnicell, WinPharm & Evolution. Management of both pharmacies is a partnership between Comprehensive Pharmacy Services and the hospital.
Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
Current Puerto Rico pharmacist license active and in good standing
Minimum of 2 years of previous experience working as a Pharmacist in a hospital setting
Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
Ability to work cooperatively with other members of CPS and hospital and pharmacy staff.
Must speak fluent Spanish
Must reside in Puerto Rico
