JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Drug Information Pharmacist is responsible for providing the clinical and pharmacoeconomic expertise for the pharmacy program by assisting with the provision of clinical information, formulary development and clinical operational support. This person will use clinical data to help support P&T Committee reviews, including delegated MAPC and FAC responsibilities, as well as internal and external requests for clinical information. They will also be responsible for reviewing financial and utilization data for making recommendations related to formulary management. In addition, they will use technical drug database information to help support operational processes that require clinical review within the organization. The primary functions involve ensuring that Navitus is able to provide clinically sound decision-making on formularies and other programs in the most cost-effective manner. Additional Responsibilities: Support P&T process by completion of periodic reviews and monographs of drugs and therapeutic categories Support ongoing formulary maintenance through participation in MediSpan review, FAC and MAPC Answer clinical inquiries from internal staff related to drug information topics Present clinical updates to internal departments (clinical and non-clinical), as well as clients or other external parties as needed. Assist with Medicare D tasks related to formulary adjudication Support maintenance of clinical drugs lists required for various internal processes Complete all annual URAC training requirements Support Pipeline surveillance and Drug Information site Assist in the drug prior authorization program and with individual case reviews when needed Maintain open lines of communication with other functional areas/departments Provide effective communication of Navitus' vision, mission, values, goals and policies Participate in meetings and committees regarding goals, vision and strategic plans Responsible for staying current with clinical literature and guidelines, and relaying those to Navitus core teams and program managers Essential Background Requirements: Education: A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. Current unrestricted licensure as an RPh in the State of Wisconsin or the ability to gain reciprocity within 4 months of employment is required. Experience: Minimum of two years clinical experience, or clinical or managed care pharmacy practice residency. Knowledge of the PBM industry, formulary management, pharmacy claims and managed care principles and practices is desired. Exceptional clinical skills and the ability to apply sound clinical judgment to a variety of situations.
