Sutter Health Pharmacist - Inpatient in Los Banos, California

Position Overview:

Functions as a drug specialist and therapy consultant in promoting medication use in the outpatient pharmacy that serves a patient population of all ages. Compounds, packages, labels and dispenses drugs; reviews and confirms accuracy of technical and pharmacy intern support personnel; counsels patients on medications; reviews described drug therapy for appropriateness, effectiveness and safety based on patient age, disease state and clinical status. Manages day to day operations of the pharmacy.

Makes patient care interventions and recommendations as appropriate; performs other activities as they relate to the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical products in the outpatient setting.

Serving Merced County Westside area with 48 care beds, the facility is part of Memorial Hospitals Association and Sutter Health, a not-for-profit organization that exists to maintain and improve the health status of citizens in its geographic area. Memorial Hospital Los Banos provides and promotes effective inpatient and outpatient health care services including 24-hour Emergency Care, Rural Health Clinic, Surgery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Diagnostics Imaging, and Intensive Care Unit and Physical Therapy.



  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy and licensed to practice in the State of California

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree or B.S. in pharmacy with equivalent experience

  • Ability to read, write, hear, and verbally communicate English to the degree required to perform the job


  • One year of practical experience as a pharmacist of which six months have been gained in a hospital or equivalent practice setting
