Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, reviews drug orders utilizing a copy of the physician's order to create and maintain patient medication profiles; issues pharmaceuticals via unit-dose/IV admixture system; clinically intervenes into the care of the patient; supervises technicians/students; participates in educational programs of the department


Minimum Required


Undergraduate pharmacy degree (Bachelor of Science, Doctor of Pharmacy or Pharm. D.)

Special Skills

Must be highly proficient in intravenous admixture skills and have moderate proficiency in use of keyboard, electronic calculator, and electric typewriter (type 20-30 wpm).


Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist by the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy; BLS certification
