Why Mayo Clinic

The hospital pharmacy department provides clinical, distributive and research services to the hospital and outpatient infusion centers. Clinical services include, but are not limited to, care team rounding, antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation management, transitions of care coordination, and progressive collaborative practice agreements.

Position description

The Pharmacist provides quality pharmaceutical care through the accurate interpretation and dispensing of medication orders and clinical involvement with providers, allied health staff and patients regarding medication therapy decisions. The Pharmacist provides guidance to the technical staff in the department.

This role includes a rotation between the hub campus and critical access site. In the critical access location, the pharmacist will practice as the only pharmacist, providing services to inpatient, transitional care and emergency department patients.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy Program. License to practice Pharmacy in Wisconsin.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; also, Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program

Additional qualifications

Prior experience through an internship or employment as a Pharmacist preferred. Demonstrates excellent organizational skills. Able to tolerate high stress levels and frequent interruptions. Utilizes mature, independent judgment.

The following are strongly preferred: Completion of an accredited pharmacy residency in inpatient pharmacy practice, primary care or geriatrics. Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy from Board of Pharmacy Specialties. Experience working with transitions of care. Experience and / or interest in teaching. Computer experience. Commitment to excellence, accuracy, attention to detail and team work. Ability to communicate effectively, works collaboratively with others, organizes time well, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision.

License or certification

License to practice Pharmacy in the State of Wisconsin or eligibility for licensure.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $4,870.40, based on a full-time position.
