A pharmacist, licensed by the New York State Board of Pharmacy, who performs technical, non-technical and management functions, requiring or not requiring judgment, under the general direction and supervision of the pharmacy supervisor.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in the pharmaceutical sciences. Satisfactory completion of Hospital Pharmacy Orientation Program preferable. Familiarity with computers. Experience within the last 10 years with patient-oriented drug delivery systems, IV admixture services, and drug information services preferred.
Physical Demands: Position will primarily be light work requiring lifting up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching are required. Requires long periods of standing or constant walking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word is required. Work week is variable.
Working Environment: May have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise that may result from performance of duties.
Employees Supervised: Instructs and supervises 1-3 Technicians in the technical and professional performance of their jobs, as required; monitors daily work to insure procedures are being followed correctly, as required.
Degree of Supervision Required: Minimal. Must be able to work independently.
