SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position)
Performs all retail pharmacy related activies: (1) Reviewing and interpreting patient specific prescriptions, accurately recognizing errors in dosage, drug interactions, contraindications, inappropriate use or any other problems involved in drug delivery or drug therapy; (2) Efficient entry of all required information into pharmacy operating software as required by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy; (3) Supervision and responsibility of all drug preparation, repackaging and/or compounding performed by supportive personnel; (4)the supervision of and responsibility for immeidate reconciliation of all third party claims, borrow loan agreements with other pharmacies and any other process whereby medications are dispensed but not immeidately paid; (5) Drug Dispensing; (6) Clinical Pharmacy services.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experience
EDUCATION: B.S. degree in Pharmacy; Pharm D preferred
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE: Should have a minimum of hospital pharmacy experience or internship experience in a hospital pharmacy setting. Working knowledge of general pharmacy software. Must have organizational skills and be able to prioritize job duties.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, BONDING: Licensed as a pharmacist in the state of Arkansas by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy.
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a well-equipped, air-conditioned department subject to continual interruptions from pharmacy, nursing, and physician staff members. Exposure to potentially harmful chemotherapy with protective measures provided. Must be able to lift and carry twenty (20) pounds, pull/push a minimum of fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to stand or walk for a minimum of two (2) hours.
