Kalispell Regional Healthcare Pharmacist - Conrad, Montana in Conrad, Montana


Responsible for planning, budgeting, directing and supervising pharmacy activities and personnel, including managing new programs within the department and for the hospital. Maintains the pharmacy within established hospital and regulatory agency laws, CMS, and Department of Public Health Regulations. Responsible for the selection, training, orientation and supervision of pharmacy personnel.


  1. Collaborates with other departments to create systems and problem solve ongoing issues that impact departmental/organizational goals and/or patient care delivery.

  2. Distribution and administration of drugs throughout the facility; maintenance and update of hospital formulary.

  3. Responsible for acquisition and purchasing of quality drugs for hospital usage.

  4. Meets regularly with medical and nursing staff regarding drug and pharmaceutical detail. Acts as an educational resource and is available for consultation to medical, nursing, and administrative staff and reviews incident reports as they arise. Co-develops systems to prevent recurrence of adverse events when necessary.

  5. Evaluates and coordinates all aspects of pharmaceutical services by all providers for extended care residents within the facility via a monthly review process or as the need arises.

  6. Responsible for oversight of facility Antibiotic Stewardship program

  7. Represents the department on all assigned committees within the hospital that are concerned with drug distribution and drug therapy

  8. Develops policies and procedures relating to pharmacy department. Ensures delivery of quality and safe pharmacy services to inpatients, outpatients, residents and employees

  9. Responsible for all Pharmacy functions in the absence of the Pharmacy Technician.

  10. Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: Requires bachelor’s degree in pharmacy; three to five years of previous supervisory/administrative experience preferred. Knowledge of Federal and State pharmacy laws required.

Other qualifications/certificate/license:

Current Pharmacist licensure in Montana, or eligible for licensure.
