BASIC FUNCTION: This position is responsible for performing pharmacy program quality improvement activities including but not limited to reviewing and supporting formulary (drug list) and Utilization Management (UM) programs. This position is responsible for performing comprehensive medication reviews of individual member drug use as well. .
JOB REQUIREMENTS:Registered Pharmacist with unrestricted license in the state of Illinois or Texas. *Experience using window based word processing, spreadsheet and relational database software.Drug information skills.Strong Verbal and written communication skills with client-facing experience.Knowledge of practice guidelines or practice parameters; pharmacoeconomics; quality improvement processes and techniques.Knowledge of medication use evaluation principles.MTM program experience or completion of MTM/Pharmaceutical Care Training preferred. Ability to remain at a work station and perform computer entry for long periods of time, as required.Skills to handle multiple priorities and manage communications professionally to achieve issue resolution with customers, employees, or management.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:Computer skills to include Excel and PowerPoint experience.3 years of experience within Pharmacy practice.Additional certifications and residency experience.Managed care and/or Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) experience.MTM experience, specialty pharmacy, or government programs knowledge.Data analysis and reporting. Experience with formulary analysis and management.Experience reviewing medications for formulary placement based on financial and clinical data.
