Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Clinical Pharmacist Specialist #11274 in Buffalo, New York

Roswell Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a full time, Clinical Pharmacist Specialist. The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, provide clinical pharmacy services for inpatient and ambulatory oncology patients. Clinical Pharmacist Specialist will be responsible for medication management of oncology patients in in-patient and ambulatory setting and for ensuring safe and effective medication use, including intravenous and oral chemotherapy, chemotherapy orders review and verification, medication therapy management including symptom management, therapeutic drug monitoring, and patient education. Clinical Pharmacist Specialist also will serve as a drug information resource to medical team and be responsible for developing and implementing pharmacy programs and various quality, safety, and cost savings initiatives. Responsibilities also include participation in the development, provision, and evaluation of comprehensive pharmaceutical care standard operating procedures and treatment guidelines, and participation in clinical research. There will be ample teaching opportunities available such as precepting pharmacy students, PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy residents, contributing to residency program advancement and growth, and providing educational lectures for medical and pharmacy staff.

License Requirement
License to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of New York

Education and Experience
1. Doctor of Pharmacy degree; or
2. Master’s degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time clinical pharmacy or pharmacy-related experience; or
3. Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time clinical pharmacy or pharmacy-related experience.

Preferred candidate would have:
PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency
PGY-2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency
Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist
Clinical Oncology pharmacy experience
Experience in practical and didactic training of Pharmacy Students and Residents
