Clinical Pharmacist - Corrective Managed Care Coordinator

Who we need:

The Corrective Managed Care (CMC) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the CMC program in coordination with Maryland Medicaid Pharmacy Program (MMPP) staff and Department polices in accordance with the current contract to provide services related to drug use review, analysis, evaluations and interventions for Maryland Medicaid participants. The CMC coordinator will work in the Department office in Baltimore, Maryland, and will participate in clinical duties as assigned by Department staff. This position requires a Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with an active Maryland license in good standing, and residence in the State of Maryland.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the CMC lock-in program by reviewing participant drug and diagnosis history profiles monthly for suspected candidate, sending intervention letters, and monitoring changes in participants’ drug utilization habits

  • Present findings of the CMC lock-in program to the Maryland Medicaid Drug Utilization Review (DUR) Board

  • Manage all nine (9) MCO formularies as well as the FFS formulary listing on Formulary Navigator™.

  • Provides continuing education programs/documents for and on behalf of the MDH OPS

  • Coordinate activities with the Department’s fraud, abuse and diversion entities

  • Assist in preauthorizing restricted medications and participate in other clinical projects and assignments, including literature searches and research in response to inquiries and technical questions

  • Work on-site at the Department of Health, at 201 W. Preston Street, Baltimore, Maryland

What you’ll need:

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree

  • Must be a Maryland licensed pharmacist in good standing

  • Must reside in the State of Maryland

  • Minimum two (2) years pharmacy clinical experience in reviewing drug use histories, analyzing and summarizing information based on reviews conducted
