Position Description

Responsible for the technologies supporting Pharmacy operations and Medication Management. Works collaboratively with patient care teams, Pharmacy departmental leadership, Quality, Medication Safety, Performance Improvement, clinical leadership and Information Systems. Serves as an expert in the use of technology to optimize medication processes through automation, EMR electronic decision support and data analytics and reporting. Uses knowledge of pharmacy practice and informatics concepts for effective process design, translation of requests into system specifications, priority setting, troubleshooting and issue resolution and ongoing management and support of the Pharmacy systems.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and 3 years or more of experience in pharmacy practice to include 1 year in hospital pharmacy setting; or completion of a PGY1/PGY2 program within the past 12 months. Pharmacist license. Critical thinking, reasoning and problem solving. Strong interpersonal skills, organizational awareness and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with pharmacy applications related to automation, EMR and data and reporting. Ability to function independently and as a team player in a multi-hospital environment. Highly experience in MS Office suite, especially Excel.

Preferred Requirements

Doctoral Degree in PharmD. 1 years or more of experience in pharmacy informatics or training. ASHP (or other training for) Pharmacist Informatics Certification. Experience working on patient safety initiatives and IT systems related to pharmacy/EMR. Experience designing, building, testing, and resolving issues within an electronic Pharmacy Information System (i.e., Cerner).
